We are a family living in London looking for an au pair ideally to start in mid-August 2011 and stay through to July 2012. Exact dates can be negotiated. You would help out in the mornings sometimes but mainly pick up our two kids from school nursery (close to our house take them to activities spend time with them until dinnertime. Total hours each week will be 25 hours plus some occasional evening babysitting. We have two children a girl nearly 6 and a boy nearly 4. The older one is in school from 9-3.30 Monday-Friday and the younger one is in nursery on those days from 9-12. They are smart kind and energetic (but not hyper. They are very used to au pairs. Our most recent has just returned to Germany to prepare for university. We have had others before then. Weve loved them all (luckily and we think they have been very happy here too. Our neighbourhood We live in an area called Brockley in South East London Zone 2. It s a residential neighborhood filled with other young families (and other au pairs. Its well connected for getting into the very center of town quickly with some nice places (parks bars cafes restaurants shops etc) within walking distance of our house as well. Our house Its a typical London Victorian terrace. You would have your own double bedroom at the back of the house and share bathrooms with the family There are two bathrooms in total one with a bath and one with a shower) The parents Mother is a journalist working mainly from home. Father is a civil servant working for the UK government. We are pretty international mothers background Russian American and fathers English French. Between us we speak English French Russian and some Spanish and German. Were fairly active and social and we like to think we are flexible and considerate. We also love to cook and eat.
