Lovely Role For A Live In Housekeeper, Jersey, Channel Islands (Jersey, Chanel Islands)



My client a family of 7 are looking for a full time live in housekeeper for their busy home in Jersey Channel Islands. You will be working 10am-8pm Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work will be required) You will also be expected to babysit on Saturday evenings once or twice a month. It is essential that you are willing to be flexible. The role is for a live in Housekeeper accommodation including a fully-furnished apartment comprising sitting room a snug a kitchen one double bedroom with en-suite. You will also be provided with a manual car will in and out of working hours. The family consists of husband and wife who both work full time 5 children (a 16 year old boy at boarding school 12 year old girl 11 year old girl 8 year old boy and 5 year old boy) and an elderly female relative. The family love animals and keep many pets including 2 x ponies 3 x dogs cat rabbits and guinea pigs. They are also extremely active physically enjoying surfing in particular as well as casual entertaining. The ideal candidate for this position will be extremely caring and kind to the children. This individual must be very pro-active and helpful to the family and have a can-do attitude. You should be keen to make Jersey your new home and adapt as required to the family and must be familiar with working with children and animals. In addition to housekeeping the candidate will also act as a companion for the elderly female relative providing her with assistance throughout the day including transport and to accompany on occasional outings. The candidate will also be required to drive the children to various activities. It is essential that you are an animal-lover and prepared to carry out assist with pet-related duties. The housekeeper will be the contact point at the house for workmen and contractors. It is essential that you are computer literate and able to communicate via email for work purposes. The right candidate is expected to take great pride in their work. They must seek job satisfaction and aim to ensure that the household is kept in an orderly secure and dignified manner. Main Tasks and Responsibilities Cleaning of the interior of the homes and the immediate areas outside Laundry (clothing and household linens ironing general care Bed making routine bedding and linen changes Grocery shopping and other household errands Occasional cooking for the children and elderly relative. Maintaining the household inventory security Driving the children from and to school and their activities Secure supervise tradesmen contractors if required Organisation e. g rotate seasonal clothing in closets maintain pantry and routinely clear out of date and spoiled items and replace stocks Basic household bookkeeping maintenance of expenses Act as the main contact at the house for contractors and workmen. Occasional babysitting Acting as a companion to the elderly female relative providing her with assistance throughout the day including transport and accompanying her on outings. Taking on duties involving pets ensuring the pets are cleaned fed and watered (the horses are kept at a stable) accompanying the daughter to riding lessons and helping walk the horse as required. Requirements for the candidate Proven experience in a similar role and must be able to provide checkable references Excellent all-round housekeeping skills including cleaning laundry and ironing Excellent driving ability with a full clean driving licence the candidate will be assessed on driving skills Good organiser (food shopping general house organisation and cleaning rota) Experience of working with children and elderly family members Must like animals and be happy working with the family pets Flexibility absolutely essential Cheerful and willing disposition Must be tolerant patient and discreet Must demonstrate a high level of initiative Good time management skills Organised and self-motivated with good time-management skills
